The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2005 - 4th December

The popular Singapore International Marathon will take place on 4th December. Once again, our Club is making arrangement for bus transport and hotel accommodation for the convenience of our members. Based on last 3 years' trend, we anticipate at least 200 members will be participating in the various categories of the event.

Transport Arrangements
Departure: Saturday, 3rd Dec, 8.00 AM from Bukit Aman car park and tentatively one bus to pick up members from Permaisuri at 7am.
Return: Sunday, 4th Dec, 3 PM from Singapore
Coaches: 3 40-sitter air-cond coaches are being arranged. Cost per person will be announced upon receipt of quotation.

Accommodation
100 rooms have been booked with the Peninsular Excelsior Hotel, Singapore, which is about 5 minutes walk to the start point at Esplanade Drive. End point is at the Padang which is even nearer to the hotel.

Room rate: RM210 per twin sharing room (without breakfast) or RM245 (with breakfast). Same rate for single occupancy. For twin-sharing, please find you own partner.

Event details
As always there’s something for everyone - casual runners can attempt the 10km and confident first-timers can run the Half Marathon. And for those who want to go the full distance – take on all 42.195 km of the Marathon.

Approximately 18,000 participants
Maximum 20,000 participants

Registration
One has to register on line: http://www.singaporemarathon.com. 3 rates are payable for registration made during 3 different periods: Early Birds (15th July-31st Aug); Promotion (1st –30th Sept) and Normal (1st Oct – 14th Nov)

Booking and further information
Rooms and transport booking will be will be closed 3 weeks before the event i.e. on 11th Nov, 2005, and availability is on first-come-first-served basis.
