PACESETTERS - 20 YEARS AND STILL SETTING THE PACE!
On 20th May 2004, Pacesetters Athletic Club Malaysia (PACM) will be exactly
20 years old. The Club was first established in 1984 with a mission to
develop and promote running in Malaysia besides instilling the sporting
and competitive spirit among runners. The official launch of PACM was
a Charity Run from Lake Garden to PJ Hilton with a participation of about
500 runners. A total of RM3627 was raised for donation to the Spastic
Association of Selangor.

Through thick and thin, the Club has prided itself with its achievement
of successful organisation and event management.
The Club has had many opportunities to co-organise track and field
events and road races, working hand-in-hand with numerous sponsors.
Today, we have eight major Area Groups within the Klang Valley and
have further successfully inaugurated our own training sessions
for youths of these area groups.

We recently held our 20th AGM cum Anniversary Dinner at the Mutiara Hotel
Kuala Lumpur. A total of 300 members, including founder members and invited
guests, turned up for the Dinner to celebrate the auspicious occasion.
Besides the numerous shows put up by the members, the highlight of the
evening was a toast and cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate the 20th
Anniversary.
Indeed, after 20 long years, the Club is still setting the pace. We hope
for the next 20 years and beyond, Pacesetters will step up the pace.
Long live Pacesetters! May there be many good things in store for its
members!
