Pacesetters was formed in 1984 after the 1st Kuala Lumpur International
Marathon, with its main objective of promoting running as one of the healthy
forms of exercise.

Initially, we concentrated on distance running, in particular the half
marathon and marathon. Recently, we have started taking part in track
races as well. This is because of the need, as we see it, to attract and
groom the younger members from an early age on running, so that the country
will have a pool of youngsters to select from to further train in middle
distance track running.
The club is based in Kuala Lumpur, with Area Groups in:

- Forest Research Institute Malaysia

- Penang
- Putrajaya
